The sloth named Proton

30 Oct 2004

I’m at work, with the Waja in a workshop in Bangsar Utama. When I collect it, I’ll be 300 ringgit poorer.

Why? Because Proton Edar’s service crew failed to diagnose the problem properly when the car was still in service. As a matter of fact, they even made things worse.

Their lack of compassion in their work, even giving excuses as to how they cannot rectify the problems they themselves created by either poor manufacturing or shallow knowledge of their products, leads me to lose all confidence in our local brand. Never again shall I purchase another Proton car, unless I’m freaking desperate.

VTEC all the way.

    woo hoo

i’ve checked out some Honda-enthusiast sites… none of the B20’s are VTEC unless modified from ground up (e.g. B20Z bottom with B16 VTEC head).. so I’m gonna look at getting an F20C or a K20A.

i think they’ll cost a bomb tho, so for now, it’ll just be an ideal goal.

I think the more ideal ‘bottom’ block would be the B18s. Go look for empty blocks, or otherwise known as engine kosong. It’s a lot cheaper than buying a halfcut. But beware of flooded engines though, they usually look extra clean. Plus look on the bright side, you won’t need anything else from the halfcut, with exception of the brakes. But you can buy the Project ‘myuu’, or “M” so to speak discs and calipers. Last I checked, they cost as much as Brembos. Hehehehe.
