Food & Fun

Hiya peeps!

I just got back from breaking fast with a whole bunch of my old high school mates. Many of them were in fact from other classes, so I didn’t really keep in touch with them all these years, but it was great to meet them again.

Those who were there were: Sharyzad (the hostess), Saiful her boypal, Helmi, Azad, Aedewan, Yusof, Ashraf, Adam, Ahmad, Azmil, Ariff, Ros Noreen, Sharina, Amily, Fatimah, and a pretty girl from Amanah whose name I didn’t quite catch.

Sorry if I misspelt any of your names. 😛

Interesting topics were Sharina’s wedding in March, and Ashraf’s current activities. Helmi seemed the same as always, with his excellent PR skills. 😉 Also on chat was my inability to remember some of the people there, and to make things worse I couldn’t exactly remember my class name. :O Hey, it’s been 7 years, ya know?

To sum it up, it was great. The food was great at Tupai Tupai, but the lack of a dessert menu sucks. And it rained too. But the company definitely made up for these shortcomings. After a while, food was no longer a concern. Only the conversations across two dining tables combined.

Helmi was kind enough to lend me a ride and drop me back at my car at the Bangsar LRT station. And since I was in Bangsar, I thought I’d drop by Bangsar Baru.. for.. you know. Managed to put in a few games with Merv’s family to finish up the night.

And JL’s at the Beach Club. Will he pull a Vincent-like stunt? 😀

Ghosts of VM past

Remember virtualmystic.com? It seems we still owe a customer for another year of service. And with that customer being a close acquaintance, I can’t deny his claim.

So there goes another 60 dollars. Plus 35 I owe him for renewing bangsar.net.

I’m curious about a service provider’s obligation to its customers after being raided by the FBI. There must be some sort of protection, like bankruptcy altho something short of that.

I feel so poor.

Wet

My office is my shelter.

Been raining cats and dogs lately. When I went out at noon for prayers, it was wet. When I got out of work, it was wet. And cold.

Rain is problematic for people driving cars without tire treads. I.e. me.

Users are starting to raise hell again. God, when will this project end?!

Forgive the short paragraphs. I’ve got pizza on my mind.

Game of tag

Okay, no more working on my tag. There are some shortcomings, but I’ll live with em for now. At least till I start commercialising or something.

Spent an hour queueing up for briyani. And it was worth it! 😀 Half the time I was waiting for the stallkeepers to arrive. And by the time they arrived, there was a very very long queue. Now that’s what I call demand for the good stuff.

Tempted to go to Merv’s place. 😛

Work Complete

Finally finished work on my tag board. It’s JavaScript, based on flooble code, but much nicer in a sense. The main thing is that it doesn’t generate a popup every time you post a message. The second thing is the periodic refresh function, which automatically refreshes the tag board every x seconds. Lastly, it’ll remember your post settings for your next visit via cookies.

Time to get back to working on myuucon, as well as something called yarnballs to allow me and my pals to keep track of the stuff we lend each other. 🙂

And tomorrow, it’s back to work for me.

Signs

Last night, the power went out at my apartment. From 2am to at least 9am. Security says that the TNB people have come to check the problem out (at about 5am), but when I called TNB’s hotline (15454) it seemed that the problem wasn’t logged at all. Stupid security.

In the morning, at about 9am, the power went out at Menara Tan & Tan and surrounding buildings. Class was delayed an hour. Saw the poor security guy at the Singapore High Commission having to drag open its heavy electric gate.

Sounds like someone is trying to tell me something. Or not.

Was supposed to go out for coffee tonight with the gang, but with so many napping spells tonight, I think I’d better not. Gotta regain the lost Z time.

Plagiarism

Check out my new tag board, ala flooble. Now that’s what I call copy marketing. 😀

Today, I started yet another round of SAP training at Tan & Tan. The instructor was cool, finishing 15 minutes early. However, the stupid van was 45 minutes late! What a waste of free time!

People who aren’t disciplined or who don’t know the back streets of KL shouldn’t be a driver.

They should do IT, like me.

And GITS SAC 2nd ep. 15 is so touching. Aww~
