Poor Khairil

We took a cab back to the hotel from Kuta Square right after getting the paintings (light blue, metered, Rp11,000). Driver wasn’t chatty, but it’s fine as long as he gets us where we wanna go.

Reached home base to find that Khairil hasn’t had lunch (poor guy) due to a miscommunication in our messaging system (that darn spa operator!). So we took a short walk to a nearby convenience toko (store) to get some Oreo’s (Rp4,500) and a can of Coke for him.

After that, since we thought we had nothing else to do, we decided to head for the airport. Our poor transfer driver had been waiting almost an hour (tip: Rp1,000), but serves him right for coming too early.

Shopping Part 3

Reaching home from 66, we proceeded to check our stuff out from the hotel. Mom had already packed her room up, and she left a note mentioning where she is. Didn’t take long since all our things were ready, so all we had to do was lug the baggage to reception for temporary safekeeping.

Khairil wasn’t feeling up to going anywhere at all, and decided to just take a dip in the pool. My sister and I grabbed a cab for Kuta Square for some last minute brand name shopping.

Nike Dri-Fit Hairband for Mom: Rp34,500
Billabong Rash Vest: Rp275,000
Speedo Watersport Shorts: Rp225,000

High priority souvenirs:-
1 pair D&G Jeans: from the bargain bin
2 pairs of Versace Jeans: 1 from the bin and another at 50% off

Ayin also got the paintings she wanted. Two artblock-sized oil paintings for Rp120,000.

Had lunch at McDonald’s some time in between. Sigh, can’t live without fast food. 😀

Meanwhile, Mom was at a spa near the hotel for a 3-hour thingie. The place wasn’t fancy, but it was close by, and cheap.

My bling!

To all my Muslim family, friends, and acquaintances, wishing you a happy and safe Aidilfitri al-Mubarak. Please forgive me for all the mistakes and bad things that I may have done either accidentally or on purpose. And also the ones you don’t know about. 😀 As some of them say, kosong-kosong (zero-zero, zero all, etc.).

Last night I took Khairil to Kampung Tengku to experience his first Raya in KL. As per the usual customs there, the Malay community would go around the neighborhood to each house to sing Takbir and to make Doa for everyone’s wellbeing. Usually the entire round would last about 3 hours up till midnight, but this time I wasn’t feeling very well, so I quit halfway. The kids get an incentive though, getting ‘duit raya’, a little monetary token, at every house. Khairil wasn’t interested though, and I lost him after the 7th or 8th house.

I’m feeling a little better this morning, having taken Clarinase at night and sweating it out till morning. This year, we made it to the mosque in time for the optional Aidilfitri prayer. Managed to get first class parking too. 😀

Well, the place looks sparkly clean and I’ve had my fair share of lemang for breakfast. Time to go visiting. See ya!

Fellow Muslims!

Have you paid your zakat this year?

Sigh, I feel like I’ve been abandoning this site with all the short entries. Gomen. Blame the hours I’ve been putting into rengoku. I’m even procrastinating on the house work, and even though I know that I need to wake up super early tomorrow to pick up foodstuff from the ‘pasar tani’, I’m still up! :O

Oh well.

This evening, we went to PKNS in Shah Alam to look at the usual bazaar-ish stuff they have every Ramadhan. I was pretty much looking for something to offer my dear cuzzies as consolation for not being able to make it for Raya this year. 🙁 The current trend with the ‘baju kurung’s lately is the one with shiny fabric with a straight line motif and the collar and button row laced with shiny stuff.

It’s all about glam, y’all. Malay bling-bling. 😀

Sad to say, I didn’t find anything really nice. Will probably visit the place again in the coming month. Went home with some kuih and dodol. And a selendang for Mak Tok.

Rengoku

You know the world’s gone crazy when spammers get philosophical.

Well, I’m up early today cuz there’s a bunch of things we need to do, like exchanging for new notes at the bank and continuing to clean the house. Counting back, I only got about 5 hours of sleep, cuz I was working on my Japanese blog till 4am. Rengoku, it’s called, which means purgatory (without the additional R). It’ll basically be something for me to practice my Japanese on, so much of the popup functions are geared towards helping me remember vocab. Its content won’t be a copy of what you’ll see here, cuz transcribing the things I convey in English would be madness.

Free time =

Gonna start a new Jap-only index page to practice me Jap language.

What else should I do during my holiday starting tomorrow? Oh yeah, clean the house. :

Gimmie my $$$

I’ve spent 2 entire days at the office compiling attendance records and evidence to claim my leave-in-lieu.

Between the month of April and July, I’ve worked an additional 235 hours. Which comes to about 29 working days.

Yes, even I think it’s crazy.

I really hope they give some sort of token of appreciation, even if not to compensate for the full amount.

… I just realised I don’t have an icon for ‘shocked’. 😛 I’ll put ‘excited’ for now.

Konbanwa!

Adding on to this morning’s comments, it’s interesting to see how the Arts students in high school have turned out. Many are graphics designers, Ros Noreen’s in event management, and Ashraf’s an actor. Well, Ashraf was a Science student, but he’s got the talent and the looks. 🙂

Today, I found out that pikey a Japanese language student, and he introduced me to the #japan-class channel on IRCnet. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some much-needed practice from this group of Japanese-speaking people.

Check out the channel’s website at http://www.japan-class.netfirms.com/.

I should already be making my way to Subang for our regular cyber-therapy session, but my tummy does not seem to be quieting down.
