the garage – php project. on hold.
myuucon – system integration project. no new developments planned.
4ghz – overclocking project. on hold pending procurement of new parts.

here i am planning for my next experiment: case modding. it basically ties back to the overclocking project, mainly to improve airflow and perhaps make my computer look slightly nicer. tools and safety equipment are required, and i’ve managed to get some quotes from ace hardware:-

– black & decker rtx-1 rotary tool. a handheld drill-like thingie, but with attachments that allow you to cut and grind metal. rm 280.

– faceshield. shields the all-important facial features and organs from sparks and breaking bits. rm 58.
– safety/construction gloves. rm 13.
– aluminum grille. optional. traps dust and bugs. rm 26.
– acrylic panels. optional. serve as good side windows. can be purchased from lowyat.net forums.

– other related items: breathing mask, masking tape, cardboard, fan grilles.

everything comes up to about rm 400. gotta start saving.

anyone wanna contribute some side panel designs? 😀

probably should get a proper work table (maybe a large wooden plank), and some clamps. if there’s money to spare. :/

save yourself some money on that aluminium grill. tell me how much you need and i’ll cut it out for you from my factory. its stainless steel too!.. you can choose from 40 mesh net (40 holes in a 1″ x 1″ area) up to 120 net mesh. Acrylic sheet (4’x8′) also I can get for you slightly cheaper. I DO have a plastic factory you know.. 😛 And you can buy the clamps from Ikea.. for the table lamps. They’re good enough, cos its not really that ‘rough’ work. Those clamps can hold up to 30 kilos of pressure. I’ll try to bring down a sample of the stainless steel net and see if it suits your needs.

    ah, domo nd-kun, ash-chan.

that’s right.. i always forget your diverse portfolio. XD mmmm…

now that you mention it, i’m also looking for a spare P-II power supply unit to fix a friend’s pc. don’t ask me why i’m repairing old school stuff; it supposedly has ‘high sentimental value’ *rolls eyes*.
