been cracking my head solving a problem at work since thursday, so i’ve been staying back rather late. so much so that i miss breakfast at home. took the opportunity to eat at someplace nice, so i called henry out for chili’s on thursday (wings over buffalo + oldtimer), and went to delicious by ms read on friday (some dry mushroomy pasta and a latte). ahhhhh 🙂

It’s been a very long while since i laughed out loud alone in my room like a madman. gotta thank hajime no ippo volume 51 chapters 2 and 3 for that.

it was totally, totally awesome! 😀

wondering if i should attend the funeral tomorrow morning. already went to the wake last night, but it might be a good idea to say one last farewell. besides, already told my big boss to shift my schedule to the afternoon.

having a chat with my ex-mandarin teacher right now. altho there’s so much i wanna ask her pertaining to what happened, but somehow i can’t press myself to press her.

i’m too nice. 🙁 well, she was a nice teacher to begin with…

at least she offered to help out online. won’t help my pronunciation though. and without a proper syllabus, i wonder how far it will go.

david‘s been admitted again, and it looks rather serious this time. i wanna go visit but i dowanna go alone! 🙁 and it’s tough in the evening due to breakfast, but i should be able to manage that somehow. should’ve gone with merv yesterday. : stupid tummy ache.

trying out a new plugin. this particular one lets me manage a set of words which will automatically generate a link when i post. for example, if i use BF2 a lot, and i want people to know more, i’d add that as a quicklink and link every mention of BF2 to http://battlefield2.ea.com. so hopefully, the bf2’s i’ve mentioned so far have all been quicklinked. 🙂

i just found out that the language center that i’ve been going to for mandarin classes has closed down. and apparently the owner(s) fled back to China.

i’m starting to have real doubts in the integrity of the people in general. especially with regards to Chinamen, with this incident plus all the horror stories you hear of expat businesses collapsing in China. i’m not being country-ist or racist mind you, but how do you avoid such a perception with that kind of experience and input?

it may be true that the center has been operating for many years, having lots of happy students and experienced personnel. but all that good image built up is immediately shattered when the operators betrayed everyone’s trust. it’s the same with any other company, or person, or whatever. no one will care about how good you were before, if at the end of the day you’d only bring frustration and anger to the people who trusted you and who depended on you.

guess my sister and i will go make a police report now. dunno bout the rest of the gang. 🙁

thinking back, i may have made a lot of hasty decisions, like the diving lessons and the mandarin lessons.i should’ve thought things through more thoroughly. maybe even do some research to find the best options. instead, i just went with the general opinion of the crowd and end up in less-than-ideal situations. *sigh*

a lot of bad things happening today. a divine sign for me to repent, perhaps?

the start of my first day of fasting has been rather interesting. the night before i was feeling the usual ‘sleep attack’ right about 10pm. usually if i force myself to keep awake this attack will pass and i’d be up till 12-1am. but this time i decided to concede, since i had to wake up at 5am for breakfast.

had two slices of bread with peanut butter. 😛

decided to go back to sleep after subuh (dawn) prayers, which was a mistake since there wasn’t much time left after to complete a proper sleep cycle. i was rather groggy until i almost got into an accident as i was about to get onto the federal highway. i was taking my usual route on Jalan Universiti and as I was exiting onto the highway i would usually estimate where i’ll be able to slip into traffic coming in from Jalan Gasing. this time i noticed ample space after a green taxi. so i assumed the green taxi would be moving on its way, checking the speed of the next oncoming vehicle, so i was moving and not looking towards the front. as i was about to cut into the proper lane, i shockingly noticed that the taxi was barely moving, and was closing into MY current lane. at the time i was still in my lane, but if i had continued on my course i’d have whacked into the left-rear corner of the taxi. luckily i was able to break and swerve away in time. that probably wore out my tires a bit more, but at least my body is intact.

so that was the morning… seems that there’s more to come.

due to someone from upstairs bringing in some rowdy kids last night, i had a weird dream. a dream of someone inhabiting the currently empty unit above us and causing us more chaos than the previous tenants! seemed so real i had to take a while to realise that it was just a figment of my nocturnal subconscious activity.

this morning, a friend-colleague had asked that i clock in for her since she was late (it’s always a ‘she’, isn’t it?). normally i wouldn’t mind, but due to recent developments i hesitated this time. gotta start safeguarding my position, putting up a proper front of non-tardiness. also gotta stay away from other things which may incur disciplinary action. she was slightly ticked off, but nothing i can’t handle. 😀

hmm.. think i should put hypnotuned as a custom field as well. 🙂

as you can see, i’ve added my little tehsig.com‘s BF2 signature showing my latest BF2 stats. at the moment i’m still using the stock images from the site; will probably use some Taiko no Tatsujin imagery from bangsar.net later. 🙂

another thing done for the backend was to install the CustomFields plugin for MT 3.2. This thingie will allow me to define special fields for each of my entries, such as moods. I was using the KeyValues plugin before, but that made use of my Extended Entry section, which really isn’t the right place for these kinda things. in fact, this entry serves as a test to see if the new plugin works, so if it does, you’ll be seeing my happy drums on the top right corner. 🙂

i still have the KeyValues plugin in effect to keep my old moods intact. might have to remove them in the future if performance becomes unbearable.

not that it matters.. i only have an average of 16 visitors per day. :O

finished off HanaKimi. read up 155 chapters of Shaman King. now kinda at a loss as to what to read next. even if Smallville season 5 is out on the net, i still need to fill in the gaps between each episode.

hmm… some probable contenders, i’d better list them here so i won’t forget: MAR, Nana, Perfect Girl Evolution, Prince of Tennis (as much as i’d hate to admit, this is an interesting series. but don’t get me wrong! i read manga for story only, NOT to admire whatever bishounens there are. besides, there are bishoujo’s to consider.), Saikano, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Shadow Lady (dunno what this is about, but the title itself is intriguing), Slam Dunk.

been taking lots of naps due to the strain on my eyes. i’m glad it’s the weekend.
